.:::WHAT IS PERU 109?:::.
What volunteering in Peru is all about?
Peru 109 is a family run organization based in Cusco, Peru that leads volunteer programs in Peru. Exclusively in the country of Peru. Director Juan Carlos designs the Peru service trips with the goal of not only facilitating positive community change, but also encouraging Peruvians to be active in initiating and maintaining programs that enhance their own communities.With these goals in mind, all Peru 109 trips focus on interactive
community projects that encourage cultural exchange between the Peruvian
community and the volunteers. To facilitate this exchange, all foreigner volunteers
in Peru are housed with local host families in Peru, with whom they share
3 meals a day during their program. This provides participants with
the opportunity to not just visit Peru, but be a part of it!.Peru 109 specializes in programs during winter,alternative spring break, summer for high school students, college students, families , and
independent travelers, all of whom work with nonprofit organizations and
schools during their stay. Host communities currently include
neighborhoods in the cities of Cusco, Trujillo, and Chimbote. We invite you to explore our program descriptions to see which trip
matches your schedule, skills, and budget. Also, we welcome your
suggestions and ideas for additional projects that we can design with you and/or
your group in mind.
